Galaxy Note 5 vs. Galaxy Note 4: 5 Things We Learned in June
Galaxy Note 5 Design | ||||||
We've heard a few things about the Galaxy Note 5 design though we still don't have the full picture as we push into July. A report out of China suggests that Samsung will be slimming the Galaxy Note 5 design down to 7.9mm. This is much thinner than the Galaxy Note 4 design which measures in at 8.5mm. The report also hints at a change to the device's USB port. If rumors are accurate, the Galaxy Note 5 will come with a USB-Type C port, a move that would mirror what Samsung did with the MacBook's USB port earlier this year. For those that aren't sure what this means, USB Type-C allows for data transfers up to 10Gbps. This is double that of the regular USB 3.0 standard. That would be hugely important for a media-oriented device like the Galaxy Note series. We've also learned that the Galaxy Note 5 design might mirror the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 designs. Leaked renders point to the change though these don't confirm a move to the glass and metal design language found on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. | ||||||
