The Galaxy S10 5G is finally coming to the United States. After a long wait, Verizon’s put it up for pre-order ahead of a release in mid-May.

Verizon’s rivals will launch the phone later this year, but anyone looking to buy the phone in the first half of 2019 is stuck with Big Red.

If you’re in the market for a new phone, the Galaxy S10 5G should be on your list somewhere. While expensive, it checks a lot of boxes.

On Verizon, the 256GB model runs $1,299.99 or $54.16/month for 24 months with monthly payments. The 512GB version of the devices goes for $1,399.99 or $58.33/month for 24 months. It’s a steep asking price, particularly when you consider the fact that Verizon’s 5G network is only live in two cities (Chicago and Minneapolis).

The device hits shelves on May 16th though you can order it right now if your mind is made up. There are some great reasons to pre-order and likewise there are some great reasons to hold off.

If you do decide to pre-order a Galaxy S10 5G from Verizon, there are some steps you should take before, and after, you put in an order. In this guide we’ll outline exactly what you need to do before you buy Samsung’s 5G-powered Galaxy S10.
