Potential for Missing Features

Samsung typically holds back software features from older devices due to hardware limitations.

For example, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 missed out on the Always On Display feature found on newer Galaxy devices.

Some older Galaxy devices also missed out on other notable Android Nougat features like Samsung's Bixby personal assistant.

If you own an older Galaxy Tab variant, there's a chance your Android Oreo update will be missing some Android Oreo features.

It's also worth mentioning that Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 Oreo update doesn't appear to have any notable S Pen upgrades on board.

That's a potential disappointment for Galaxy Tab users who use the S Pen on a daily basis.
