Wait If You Want Water-Resistance

Perhaps the biggest downside to the original Google Pixel (aside from those big bezels) is the lack of water-resistance. This is something many consider a "must-have" feature in 2017. Apple, Samsung, LG and now even HTC all have phones that can get wet. 

To be more specific, look for the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 to both have an IP68 dust and water-resistant rating. Meaning they can go under 5ft of water for over 30 minutes and work just fine. Even if it's not a huge concern, the peace of mind is important. 

Even the iPhone 8 is IP67 rated, which is 3ft for 30 minutes. Still, it's better than nothing and Google already confirmed this is one of many features that will certainly be in the Pixel 2. This slide shows the latest photo of the Pixel 2 in three colors.
