Nothing is confirmed, but iOS 11.2.5 could give you better information about the battery powering your iPhone.

Apple's taken some heat about the way it handles performance for iPhones with older batteries.

The company claims it would never "do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades."

Apple is now working to regain consumer confidence. First, the company is reducing the price of an out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement by $50 — from $79 to $29 — for anyone with an iPhone 6 or later whose battery needs to be replaced. This is available worldwide through December 2018.

It's also planning to "issue an iOS software update with new features that give users more visibility into the health of their iPhone’s battery, so they can see for themselves if its condition is affecting performance."

The changes haven't appeared in the beta, but there's a chance Apple includes them in iOS 11.2.5 in an effort to appease its customers. There's also a chance this feature is pushed to a larger update like iOS 11.3.

Apple says it plans to push a new beta in February though it declined to offer the version number.

Nothing to get excited about. Still haven’t made the music app useful again. Photo app is all messed up also.
