Performance and Battery Life

The comments in our last slide spill over to this one. Another reason you may not want to wait, or wait for the Galaxy S8 instead, is because of the processor and other things.

The LG G6 will be a flagship phone with a lot to offer, but that won't be the best new processor for improved performance, gaming and battery life. Samsung bought them all. It will still be great, like the award-winning Google Pixel, but keep that in mind. Here's the full specs based on what we know right now.

LG G6 Specifications (Rumored)

  • 5.7-inch 2880 x 1440 QHD+ IPS Display 18:9 aspect ratio
  • Snapdragon 821 Processor with 4-6GB of RAM
  • 64GB of storage and microSD card support
  • Android 7.1.1 Nougat with LG UI
  • Dual Rear Camera Setup 16MP main and wide-angle or zoom sensor
  • 8MP Front Camera with OIS
  • Improved Fingerprint Scanner
  • 3,200 mAh battery with Wireless Charging, Quick Charge, etc
  • USB Type-C Port, Always-On Display
  • Better Sound similar to the LG V20
  • IP68 Dust & Water Resistance
  • More

Most of that sounds great, and are significant improvements over the LG G5. However, we're also concerned about battery life. Making thin bezels, adding water resistance and other things, we might not get a big battery. LG typically uses a 3,000 mAh battery. In fact, it was in the LG G2-G4. Then last year they went down to a 2,800 mAh battery, and it didn't last as long as many expected or wanted.

Yes we could see something huge in the LG G6, but we have a feeling it will be around 3,000 or even 3,200 mAh. Which simply isn't enough for a 5.7-inch device. As a comparison the Galaxy S7 is 3,000 mAh and the smaller 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 Edge has a huge 3,600 mAh battery. See the difference.

LG needs to pack a big 3,500+ battery inside if they want people to truly love the phone and get great battery life.
