9 New iOS 11 Features We Want

Better Live Icons on the iPhone

If you look closely at the clock icon on your iPhone, the second-hand moves. The date on the calendar also shows you the current date. These are basically mini-widgets that we use every day. Unfortunately, that's where the live icons stop on iOS 10. 

We want iOS 11 to add in better support for Live Icons so that developers and Apple can show more information on the home screen. We'd love the weather icon to show us the temperature or the weather on the icon. The Stock app could show the up or down of a favorite stock or of a portfolio. 

If iOS 11 would add in support for third party apps to do this, there would be more ways for games and apps to use this to show you information using the icon. The challenge is maintaining the overall icon look while adding this feature, which is why we may never see it.
