Earlier this year the OnePlus 5 arrived. It had a lot to offer but fell short of the competition in a few areas. Most notably the display, with big bezels on the top and bottom. With the Galaxy S8, Pixel 2 XL, iPhone X, and LG V30 all having bezel-free screens, many passed it over. However, the companies next phone might be worth waiting for.

Trying to decide which one to buy is no easy task. That said, our information should help you decide if the OnePlus 5T is even worth the wait. With excellent big-screen phones readily available like the Galaxy S8 and Pixel 2 XL, you’ll have to look at other aspects to decide which one is right for you.

In this post, we’ll go over everything you need to know about each smartphone. From the screen sizes, cameras, specs, release date and more. These phones have similar screens and specs, but both offer a different experience throughout.

Keep in mind that if you’re a OnePlus owner you already know what to expect. A premium smartphone experience with nearly stock Android and a low price tag. Google’s Pixel 2 XL has the latest Android 8.0 Oreo, so these phones actually have a lot in common. Considering all the Pixel 2 XL display complaints, the OnePlus 5T might be one of the best Pixel 2 alternatives.

With that said, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming OnePlus 5T, and how it compares to Google’s latest and greatest. We also have new information about a potential OnePlus 5T price, so continue on to the slideshow below.

OnePlus 5T vs Pixel 2 XL: Display

OnePlus 5T vs Pixel 2 XL: Display

The first thing we want to talk about is the display, for a few reasons. Mainly, the Pixel 2 XL doesn't have the best screen on the market, and that's something everyone has probably read in the news. It's still good, just not great.

If that's a concern for you, the OnePlus 5T could be a worthy alternative considering rumors believe it packs the same size screen. A big 6-inch edge-to-edge screen with smaller bezels. And while the OP5T bezels aren't as small as Samsung's Galaxy S8, they're smaller than Google's Pixel 2 XL. This is the first phone from OnePlus with this new design that's so popular in 2017.

One thing to keep in mind is the OnePlus 5T is still a 1080p display and not Quad-HD like Google's Pixel 2 XL.

Both phones feature a long and skinny design, making them easier to hold and use even with a bigger display. This is known as an 18:9 aspect ratio.

At the end of the day, many think a 6-inch screen is the perfect middle ground. It's not too big, nor too small. If you passed on the Pixel 2 XL, keep an eye on the latest from OnePlus.
