Honestly, the design of these two phones is fairly similar, although very different at the same time. Both use premium metal and glass materials, and both have a small panel of glass on the back near the top for improved WiFi and 4G LTE signals.
These are two big phones, but one is substantially bigger than the other one. Thanks to slim bezels around the entire screen, the new Pixel 2 XL is actually smaller than the Nexus 6P. By almost a half an inch, if not more. Google returned the dual front-facing speakers in 2017, added water-resistance, improved the camera, and tossed in a large battery all in a smaller phone. The Nexus 6P is tall, wide, and heavy. In terms of the design, the Pixel 2 XL is the clear winner here. You'll enjoy better build materials, water-resistance, excellent sound, and a bigger screen all in a phone that's smaller and easier to hold. I just put the two next to one another, and it's a pretty big difference.
If you want a bigger screen in a phone that's easier to use, get the Pixel 2 XL. |
