In closing, we want to bring up the obvious elephant in the room -- which is Chrome OS itself -- and whether or not the operating system can actually take advantage of a $1,000 device like the Galaxy Chromebook. Most Chromebooks cost around $200-$400 and have average screens, mediocre processors and nowhere near 8GB of RAM, yet they all work great. Basically, you can get almost the exact same amazing experience as the Galaxy Chromebook for hundreds less if you look elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, that 4K AMOLED screen is amazing, we love that red color option, but ASUS makes a pretty great Chromebook with a stylus for around $400. Yes, you can get the ASUS Chromebook Flip with its rugged design, splash-resistant keyboard and an optional built-in stylus for $439 at Amazon. It'll never be as fast, powerful, or beautiful as the Galaxy Chromebook, but you could buy two for the same price. Just think about it. | |||||||||
