Wait for More Sensors and Smart Bands
We keep hearing about how Apple will upgrade the Apple Watch with incredible sensors to help with health and wellness. There is a new heart study program and with watchOS 4 there are a lot of hear rate tracking and display improvements, but this is still a very focused device when it comes to tracking your vitals.
We've heard rumors of Apple testing Glucose monitoring built-in to the Apple Watch and that they are testing smart bands that can deliver upgraded features that some users may need to monitor essential vitals. Kuo's report specifically mentions upgraded health sensors, but doesn't go into detail.
If this is something that is important to you, and a primary reason to buy a wearable, you should wait to see what Apple does with the Apple Watch Series 4.
While rumors have swirled for more than a year, there is a chance that we are finally where we need to be to see smart bands and extra monitoring come to life. Apple and other companies now have access to faster FDA approval for health related products.
