Once your Android Oreo update starts rolling out it could be a few weeks before you see it. If you want to skip the long wait, you'll need to sideload the software.
We expect the Galaxy Note 8's official firmware to emerge soon after the roll outs begin. This firmware will let you skip the Over-the-Air roll out. If you aren't familiar with the sideloading process, and you think you might want to skip the OTA, now would be a good time to educate yourself. There are many tutorials out there. If the sideloading process feels complicated, you should wait for your Galaxy Note 8's Android Oreo OTA update to arrive.
