You Don't Need to Install Android 8.0 Right Away

You Don't Need to Install Android 8.0 Right Away

Once the Oreo update arrives for your Galaxy Note 8 you'll be tempted to initiate the download. We won't blame you. After all, Oreo is the Galaxy Note 8's first major upgrade.

For many of you, that'll be perfectly fine. That said, some Galaxy Note 8 users will be better off waiting a few hours or, in some cases, a few days before transitioning from Nougat to Oreo.

There are plenty of reasons to avoid installing new Android software on day one. New updates can wreck havoc on your device's performance and they can break apps and services. If you rely on your Galaxy Note 8 to get you through the day, this will be an issue.

If you need to, wait for Android Oreo feedback to arrive from your fellow users. This feedback will alert you to potential benefits and problems.

Or, if you're traveling, wait until you're back at home base before you install the new operating system. The last thing you want on a trip in a new city is for your phone to go haywire.
