We continue to get questions about the validity of statements from Samsung customer service representatives so let's just get this out of the way: Don't believe anything until Samsung itself makes an announcement. According to multiple Samsung customer service reps, the Galaxy S6 will be getting Android Oreo. In fact, at least one rep told Galaxy S6 owners they would be getting the update in January or February. If you're curious, check out these threads on Reddit and XDA-Forums. This would be exciting if online Samsung customer service representatives had a great track record releasing information about unconfirmed Android updates. Unfortunately, they don't. At this point, there's no reason to believe this information or any future information they pass along about Android updates over chat. It's unreliable and it sets improper expectations for Samsung's customer base. The only semi-credible leak we've seen comes from a user on Weibo. The user, who's leaked information about Android updates in the past, posted an unofficial list of Galaxy Android Oreo updates. The Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Active are all listed, and they've appeared at T-Mobile, but until Samsung itself confirms, you need to temper your expectations. | |||||||||||

support team Hi. I am Adina and I will send you an email from Iran for a few times. I have a Galaxy S6 mobile device, which was Android 5 when it was purchased, and then upgraded to 6 and 7 later. Next Getting Android 7 has problems with my device, such as slowing down the device and other problems. I tend to get Android 7.1.1 or 7.1.2 or 8.0. I want to register to get it. Unfortunately, although I sent emails to Samsung on several occasions in Iran, I did not receive an answer. I ask for help and hope to guide me in this case. Thank you.
