One of the biggest reasons to buy an Elite controller is paddles. These let you map a button to a paddle under the controller that you can use to reload, pick something up, jump, slide or switch weapons without taking your fingers off the thumbsticks. This makes you more mobile and helps you get an edge in games.  

There are four paddles, and now they are slightly shorter, which is a great change. This means you can more easily set the controller down on a couch or pick it up without accidentally triggering an action. 

You still need to adjust to using paddles, but it is an excellent way to play and a good change from the original.
