EarthBound is similar to many RPGs. You control a cast of players and you travel across a world filled with villages, cities and you guessed it dungeons. You fight enemies as you go, earning Experience Points or XP when you win. Earn enough XP and you will level up. This does not use random encounters with enemies. You will enter battle mode anytime your player contacts an enemy.
