In addition to the key bug fixes, your Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update comes with some tools that should help you improve your device's performance going forward.
The update comes with two battery saving modes Mid and Max giving you more control over your device's power consumption. The Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update comes with a feature in Settings called Device Maintenance. Device Maintenance offers you some handy shortcuts to performance-enhancing functions. The feature is divided into a few categories including Battery, Performance Mode, Storage, RAM and Device Security. Tapping on one of these brings up some useful options including battery saving modes, My Knox for security, and background applications so you can free up RAM to help your device's CPU.
Samsung's Nougat update also lets you sleep individual applications which is something that could help out your Galaxy Note 5's battery and CPU. To sleep an application you need to press and hold on an application's icon. From there, you can choose to put the app to sleep. When an app is sleeping, it won't receive updates or send out notifications. It also won't take up battery in the background.
If you have a lot of applications on your phone, you'll want to get into the habit of using this extremely useful feature. |
