While some of you should put in an iPhone XR pre-order when they go live on Friday, others will want to hold out for a few days, a few weeks, or longer.

Apple’s iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are on shelves, but the company’s got one more iPhone launch up its sleeve for 2018.

The 6.1-inch iPhone XR goes on sale for the first time at 12:01AM on Friday, October 19th ahead of a worldwide release on October 24th.

Apple will sell the iPhone XR through its website and you can also pre-order the device through your favorite carrier or a third-party retailer like Best Buy.

If you’re dead set on buying the iPhone XR you’ll probably want to stay up late/wake up early on October 19th to put in a pre-order.

The iPhone XR might not have all the iPhone XS’ bells and whistles, but it comes with an impressive set of features including the new A12 Bionic processor, a 12MP rear camera, tons of color options, lots of storage, and Face ID. It’s also cheaper than the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

The iPhone XR starts at $750 (by comparison, the iPhone XS starts at $999) though it goes all the way up to $900. It’s cheaper than the iPhone XS, but it’s still pretty expensive.

Spending $750 or more on a new smartphone you haven’t held in your hands will be a tough decision for a lot of you. That said, there are some great reasons to think about pre-ordering the iPhone XR.

Apple reportedly has had problems producing the iPhone XR and we could see shipping times get pushed into November as the company works to keep up with demand.

Apple Stores (and other retail locations) will have iPhone XR stock available starting on October 24th, but in-store stock can be unpredictable.

In this guide we’ll take you through some of the pros and cons to pre-ordering and help you decide if pre-ordering the iPhone XR is right for you and your budget.
