If you plan on keeping your next phone for awhile you'll probably want to hang around and wait for the Galaxy S10. While it might be tempting to go with a cheaper device like the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S8, those devices will see their software support end much sooner. Samsung typically keeps devices upgraded with major updates for two years before kicking them to the curb. This means that the Galaxy S7 probably won't get Android Pie and it means Android Pie will likely be the last update for devices launched in 2017. The Galaxy S10's hardware will also ensure that you get the latest and greatest software from Samsung in a timely manner. The Samsung Galaxy S10 will likely get the best version of the company's Android Pie update complete with exclusive One UI features and a new Bright Night mode. The devices should also get a new version of Bixby. Older devices sometimes miss out on software features due to hardware limitations and that's a risk you take going with an older, cheaper device. Devices like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 will likely get some of what the Galaxy S10 has to offer, but it could take months as Samsung markets the Galaxy S10. If you plan on keeping your next phone for awhile, you should think about waiting around Samsung's Next Big Thing. | ||||||||||||||||
