Install for New Dolby Atmos Gaming Option

If you play a lot of games on your Galaxy Note 9 you might want to give Android Pie a try because it delivers an excellent upgrade for Dolby Atmos sound.

If your Galaxy Note 9 is running Android 9.0 you get a new dedicated listening mode for games. According to Samsung, the new game mode enhances “gaming immersiveness and sound effects".

Translation: It improves background sounds. This is useful when you're playing a shooter and you need to hear the sounds around you.

Instead of adding it to the existing options Samsung's included a separate toggle called Dolby Atmos for gaming in the Galaxy Note 9's sound options.

Head into Sounds and vibration > Advanced sound settings > Sound quality and effects in the Settings app to turn it on.

Please bring back the hide/show button for navigation bar. How can I focus on my kdrama with the nav bar on the side.

After installing Android pie on my note 9 I can’t have multiple Google search tabs open meaning I can only visit one website at a time unless I use the chrome app. It’s really inconvenient and I don’t feel like constantly switching through tabs in chrome.

As if I wasn’t already utterly disappointed in the Note 9 this PIE update has been a real drag! Not only did I lose the wallpaper & theme I loved I have noticed other changes that make me wish I never bought this phone. I can no longer swipe down from the top left corner to minimize an app which would also allow me to close it but keep it open via a circle icon so that I could quickly and easily switch between apps. If this isn’t happening to anyone else PLEASE leave me a reply and let me know how you were able to find it in settings. I also HATE that the home button, back button, and the other one are always viewable now! What’s the point of a huge “full” screen if these buttons are now up all the time!? Seriously thinking about going back to iPhone.

    And more items noticed:
On the home screen, the small clock that’s always on display (used to be top right corner) is now top left corner – and the reason for that is… what?

Screen is much too dark to be able to see it outdoors anymore (15-year-old stepson may have found a fix for that by disabling EVERYTHING and putting the screen to brightest resolution possible, but still – shouldn’t have had to do that).

In the phone book/contacts, the right side used to have A-Z so you could quickly & easily select the letter corresponding to the name of the contact you wanted to call. No longer there. If you touch the screen, it will (BRIEFLY!!!) flash on, but when you touch it to try to go to a letter, it disappears and you end up calling whoever’s name happened to be sitting next to that letter.

Messages screen, the option buttons are now at the bottom instead of the top, making it very awkward to see and/or find and use – put them back at the top! And while they are at it, why make the top half of the messages screen a blank box with the word “Messages” on it? I KNOW I’m in messages. Just show the damned messages, and move the “conversations” and “contacts” back to the top as well!

Incoming call screen is now a roiling mass of acid-flashback sworls, and there doesn’t appear to be any way to change it to a simple solid color. Extremely annoying!

Clock on the lock screen is no longer large & centered, and there is no option to make it larger and centered. There are options, but none that are LARGE and CENTERED like before.

Overall, very annoying when you’ve become accustomed to things being a certain way, in a certain place, and (finally) being set up the way the USER wants them, only to have them undone and be unable to change them to a more USABLE format!

I HATE Android Pie with a Passion!!!!!!!!!!
I waited for the OTA Update for My Unlocked Note 9 and then installed it and HATED it IMMEDIATELY!
Right away I had noticed Problems and Issues that either there was No Fix for or I would have to Download More software to sidestep some of the Problems and Issues but Not All of them.

Here’s a List of what Android Pie screwed up.

    1. No more option for Icon Frames to be hidden.
    2. Recent Menu has un opened apps below the close All button now. WTF!
    3. All Notification sounds are Exactly the same now. No different sounds for individual apps anymore.
    4. While browsing the web, Both the Notification and Navigation bars will not go away which takes up Screen real estate especially if you have to use the keyboard.
    5. Clock moved to the Left and No Option to move it back. WTF!
    6. Cartoonish looking Icons. Who designed them? Wiley E. Coyote working for the Acme Company who was contracted by Android software development team.
    7. Sling Player after Android Pie Update now requires Me to close and reopen the app after Any type of interaction with the app. If I fast forward past the commercial and then press play, in order to See the Video, I am Forced to close and reopen the app. If I pause and then play the video, I’m forced to close and then reopen the app. WTF!!!!!!!!!!
    8. Immediately after Android Pie Update, it Disabled being able to Talk on the Phone and be on the Internet at the same time which was working by Default on My Unlocked Note 9.

Due to these Problems and Issues with having Android Pie Update Installed on My Unlocked Note 9, I Downgraded from Android Pie to Android OREO and I don’t have ANY Problems or Issues at all anymore.

Android Pie looks, feels and acts like iOS.

I bought an Android because I didn’t want anything to do with iOS, so Why Force this Cr*p down our throats?

Android Development Team, Stop hiring Apple Developers for Android. You hired them about a year ago and look what happened with Android Pie. Don’t make this mistake again!!!!!!!!!!

This has destroyed how I interact with the phone SN9. It sucks in a big huge way. It’s idiotic and reminds me of the first images on Mac computers in the 70’s. Just stupid things have been dumbed down so badly I am embarrassed I even habe this phone. Id do anything to return it and get the 10 if I knew the 10 would never act like this. Just ridiculous.
