While it might be tempting to pre-order a copy of Borderlands 3 right now, there are some great reasons to put your money away and wait.

Gearbox has finally confirmed the next installment in the long-running Borderlands series and Borderlands 3 makes its way to Windows PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 later this year.

The game’s release date is confirmed for September 13th and it’s on sale through various retailers right now ahead of that street date.

You can buy the Borderlands 3 at places like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, NewEgg, the Microsoft Store, the PlayStation Store, and Walmart.

Pre-ordering the game is a great idea, for some of you. If you pre-order you’ll snag a nifty bonus, you’ll be able to play the game the second it’s released in September (if you pre-order the right version), and you could save yourself some cash.

Of course, there are also some great reasons to hold off. We don’t have the big picture yet and it could take a few months for Gearbox to fill in the rest of the blanks.

If you’re on the fence, allow us to the take you through the best reasons to pre-order a copy of Borderlands 3 ahead of its release date and the best reasons to take a rain check.

If you pre-order a copy of Borderlands 3 you'll net yourself a nice bonus in the form of a Gold Weapon Skins Pack.

The Gold Weapon Skins Pack contains a gold weapon trinket and gold weapon skins that are applicable to every single gun in the game.

Gearbox says you can apply them to any weapon as many times as you like.
