If you can't wait for a mystery release date, you should start looking elsewhere for your next phone. Samsung could surprise us with a Galaxy S9 Active launch in August, but at this point we don't have a specific date or even a rumored date. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active arrived on June 12th, 2015 and the company unveiled the Galaxy S7 Active on June 4th. Last year, the Galaxy S8 Active launched a little bit later on August 8th. Anything is possible, but the Galaxy S9 Active rumor mill cooled off in June and July and we haven't seen any significant developments in August. That means a release could be several weeks away, if one comes at all. We typically see a flurry of leaks and reports when a launch is imminent and we simply haven't seen much. SamMobile claims there's no firmware in development for a Galaxy S9 Active which is a sign that Samsung might pass on releasing an Active model this year. If you can't wait any longer, start going hands-on with some other comparable devices. | |||||||||
