5 Reasons to Buy the Amazon Fire 7 & 4 Reasons Not To
Upgrade for a Better Display
One catch to the Amazon Fire 7 tablet is the display isn't HD. If you love watching movies and TV shows, you should consider upgrading to the Amazon Fire HD 8 for $30 more. With the Fire HD 8, you also get longer battery life (four hours more) and you get better speakers. Overall it's a solid upgrade to consider if you love watching movies and TV shows on your tablet. Amazon has yet to update this model for 2019, so you don't get the faster processor, but it's still a nice option to consider and it comes with a larger, better display.

I would disagree with this. We bought our two kids (3 and 5) two 7″ kindle tablets on prime day for $30 each. They have both used them for over a year, without a problem. Part of that is because we bought two shock- and drop- proof cases for $10 each on eBay. We added 16gb SD cards at $8 each, and suddenly we have almost as good a deal as the Kid Tablet, but for less than $50. If they break one (not sure how that would be possible, as these cases are pretty sturdy), we’ll just pick up another tablet when they go on sale (seems to happen 3 times a year).
