Wait for Better Performance

Apple typically makes yearly improvements to the Apple Watch's performance and we should see some notable changes on board the Apple Watch 7.

While the current Apple Watch models deliver excellent battery life, we could see Apple take things even further with a new processor and better efficiencies.

According to Digitimes, Apple is planning to put a smaller "S7" processor inside the Apple Watch 7 which in turn could allow the company to put more components, including a larger battery, inside the device.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also believes the Apple Watch 7 will have a "faster processor."

Leaker Max Weinbach says the "Apple Watch Series 7 is bound to see its first real battery life improvement since the original Apple Watch."

We haven't seen any rumors about this in 2021, but we could also see Apple improve the Apple Watch's water resistance this year.

If you like to wear your watch during activities in the water, this is something to keep an eye on as we push toward the release.

There's also been chatter about Apple bringing micro-LED display technology to the Apple Watch series down the road, but that tech is reportedly three to four years away so a release on board Apple Watch 7 is unlikely.
