5 Ways the iPhone 8 Surprised Me in 24 Hours
It’s easy to gloss over the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus by setting you’re eyes on the iPhone X, but that’s a mistake. After spending a day with the iPhone 8 Plus I found several surprises that make this an excellent phone, even if the iPhone X will deliver more.
While it does feel much like a small refresh, the new features make it a very different phone. The new glass back makes it a little heavier, and a little more easy to slide around in your pocket. Even though it looks great, it’s a phone made for a case. Or at least for AppleCare+.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are more affordable than the iPhone X, and you can buy them now and likely find them in stock through the holiday season better than you can the bolder iPhone X. That alone isn’t a reason to buy one, unless you really, really need a new iPhone.
I upgraded to the 64GB iPhone 8 Plus in the new gold color option from an iPhone 7 Plus. I wasn’t expecting a lot. The main reason I have this iPhone is to write many of our setup guides. I dove in and replaced my iPhone 7 Plus giving up half of my storage space in the process. But gaining a lot for the switch.
The iPhone 8 is actually a really solid upgrade. Here’s how the iPhone 8 Plus surprised me in just a day;
- iPhone 8 Plus Camera Upgrades
- True Tone Display & HDR
- Wireless and Fast Charging
- iPhone 8 Speed
- 64GB of Storage is Livable
