The first big event of 2013, CES 2013, has almost come to a close in Las Vegas and it has been extremely fruitful for smartphone enthusiasts. We saw one extremely intriguing device launch and we also saw some powerful hardware for upcoming high-end smartphones debut. And with Mobile World Congress on the way, it’s an exciting time for those looking to buy the next big name device.
Last year, we took at look at what we believed to be the most exciting smartphones for 2013 as a whole and we told you about what we believe to be the most exciting Android smartphones for 2013. Now though, it’s time to take an even more in depth look at what we think will be the most exciting smartphones overall in the first half of the new year.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a number of high-end devices leak to the surface including flagship devices from Samsung, HTC, LG and more. And very fortunately, at least for those in the market for a new device, there seem to be quite a few devices that look destined for a launch in the first half of the year. In fact, we know there are going to be some fantastic devices available in the coming weeks because they have been confirmed.
One of them we consider to be the darling of CES 2013, and a device that will surely tempt those in the market for a smartphone at the beginning of the year. Two others will be making their debut in just a couple of days. And the others look like they will arrive at some point in the next few months.
Of course, there are also phones that are on the fringe for the first half of 2013, phones like the iPhone 6 and the X Phone from Motorola and Google. However, both of those have been left off of the list in favor of devices that are more likely to launch in the first part of the year. That’s not to say that those won’t hit in the first half though.
That being said, here are the six smartphones that we feel are the most exciting for the first half of 2013.
