6 Reasons to Wait for the 2019 iPad & 3 Reasons Not To
The iPad mini 5 isn’t the only iPad rumored for release in 2019. Apple is reportedly prepping another budget 2019 iPad option and it looks like it could hit shelves in the near future.
If you’re in the market for a new tablet you might have your eyes on Apple’s 2018 iPad Pros, the 9.7-inch iPad, or the iPad mini 4. These should be on your shopping list, but you’ll also want to take note of the new iPad models Apple’s reportedly planning for 2019.
Apple’s reportedly cooking up new iPads for this year and some of them could arrive in the near future well ahead of the company’s fall launch event.
One of the devices is the heavily rumored iPad mini 5, a modest successor for the iPad mini 4, and a device that will reportedly hit shelves sometime in the first half of 2019.
According to credible leaker CoinX, Apple is working on two other iPad models. One is a mysterious 10.5-inch iPad without “Pro” branding.
The other is a refresh of last year’s 9.7-inch iPad that reportedly could come with at least one noticeable change: A bump in screen size.

Both iPad 7 (10.2”) and the “new” iPad (10.5”, non-Pro) are coming. But not at the same time.

2019 iPad rumors are starting to heat up as we push deeper into the year toward Apple’s first launch window.
The company typically hosts a media event in late March and the company has set aside March 25th for an event at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino.
The media event will reportedly focus on services rather than new hardware, but there’s a chance we see new hardware launch (Apple could simply issue press releases) in and around the event.
Apple has registered several new iPad models in the buildup to the event. Indian blog MySmartPrice says Apple’s registered seven new iPad models in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database. They include models A2123, A2124, A2126, A2153, A2154, A2133, and A2152.
Filings at the EEC often hint at upcoming product launches so there’s a good chance at least one of these is the new 2019 iPad.
2019 iPad rumors suggest the new device(s) won’t be a huge upgrade over the 9.7-inch iPad, but there are a few features that might catch your eye as you search for your next tablet.
With a launch looming on the horizon, some of you might want to hold out and see what Apple’s got up its sleeve in 2019.
In this guide we’ll take you through the best reasons to wait for the 2019 iPad. We’ll also take you through some reasons why you might want to go with another device.

So even if the 2019 iPad doesn't appear on stage during the event, there's a chance Apple confirms the device via a press shortly after the event concludes. Here's what we've heard so far:
All signs point to an arrival sometime in the first half of 2019. There's no guarantee this happens but we recommend hanging around for a few more weeks in order to find out. | ||||||||||
