Active Edge & Google Assistant

Next up is a feature some are going to absolutely love, and others will think is a gimmick. It's called "Active Edge" and is basically a shortcut to launch the Google Assistant.

Just like the HTC 11, Google's new Pixel phones will recognize pressure on the sides of the phone. You can squeeze the phone to launch apps and services, even when it's turned off.

Squeeze it, and it instantly launches the Google Assistant. You can pull the phone out of your pocket, squeeze it while you do so, then say, "Ok Google, take a selfie" and take a photo 100% without touching the screen. Get directions, make a phone call, send a text message, or do anything the Assistant can do without touching the screen.

Once you start to learn how amazing the Google Assistant is, this Active Edge squeeze feature will be something you love.
