Bluetooth 5.0 and More

Another thing you probably didn't know about the Galaxy S8 is this is one of the first phones with support for Bluetooth 5.0 technology. Which is what we use to connect to our car stereo, portable bluetooth speakers, headphones or our home entertainment system.

Bluetooth 5.0 will be in many devices throughout 2017, and it's extremely important. For one, bluetooth range will increase from around 30 feet to nearly 120 ft, even indoors. So you can go anywhere in your house without the music cutting out. That's a 4x improvement over devices from 2016. It even allows for 800% greater data transfer. So bluetooth file transfer, or backups will be faster.

Another aspect of Bluetooth 5.0 is you can stream to two devices at the same time. Some devices have been able to do this, but it will be easier than ever before on the Galaxy S8. Stream music over Bluetooth to your headphones and a speaker at the same time. Or two different Bluetooth speakers in the backyard or on the patio. This is another awesome aspect many will love.

And finally, Bluetooth 5.0 adds "app level" audio controls. Meaning you can head into settings and make it so only music or calls stream over Bluetooth, while everything else remains on the phone. Play games and listen to music at the same time, keep music playing while you answer a phone call and more. The options are endless with Bluetooth 5.0 and the Galaxy S8.
