GigaBit LTE Speeds

The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are also among the first phones with support for what's called GigaBit LTE. This is a little more technical than most on our list, and something that won't be hugely beneficial until networks and carriers catch up. Verizon and T-Mobile are leading the charge, and rolling it out later this year.

Remember how big of a change 4G LTE was when it came to using our smartphones for watching videos, using Facebook or doing just about everything online? It's so much faster than the old 3G speeds.

That's exactly what Gigabit LTE will do. Instead of our phones getting 40 MB/s download speeds, imagine speeds reaching around 900 MB/S. Gigabit is technically 1,000 MB/s and that's what's coming in the next few years. Gigabit LTE allows phones to get four different LTE connections at a time, it's much faster, and much more.
