In-Glass Optical Fingerprint Scanner Missing

Did you know that Samsung never wanted to put the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. For seven years the home button has been on the front, and for the past few years it was also where the fingerprint scanner is. Most other Android's have it on the back, but not Samsung.

Instead, Samsung was planning to use a brand new optical fingerprint scanner technology that was built into the glass on our screens. Meaning just tap the small in-glass sensor and instantly unlock your phone. Sadly this technology still isn't perfect yet, and wasn't available for the Galaxy S8. That's probably why they made such tiny bezels, as they planned for an optical fingerprint scanner.

At the last second this was probably scrapped, and Samsung simply added it to the back instead. We have good news though. It's highly likely that Samsung will finally debut their all-new optical fingerprint scanner inside the Galaxy Note 8 display. And replace the sensor on back with dual cameras.
