How to Use Snapchat Ghost Mode to Hide Your Location

This is how to use Snapchat Ghost Mode to hide your location from Snap Maps for a short period of time or until you turn it back on. It’s an easy way to go offline when you need to hide from people who follow you on Snapchat.

With the new Snapchat Ghost Mode, you can turn off your location sharing for 3 hours, 24 hours or until you decide to share it again. This is in the Snapchat Snap Map settings, and it only takes a second to turn on. Here’s how to use Ghost Mode to hide on Snapchat maps.

You’ll need to be on the latest version of Snapchat, and you will need to be using Snap Maps to share your location with someone. The video above walks you through how this works, and the guide below features step by step instructions.

1. Open Snapchat.
2. Pinch to go to the Snap Maps feature.
3. Tap on the Settings in the upper right.
4. Tap on Ghost Mode.
5. Choose how long to use Ghost Mode for.
