How to Turn On & Use Snapchat Link Sharing

You can now share links directly to friends in Snapchat from the iPhone share options, but you need to turn it on to use the new feature. Here’s how to turn on Snapchat link sharing, and how you can use it to share a link with a friend right from Safari or other apps.

Snapchat added the new sharing option to the iPhone app alongside a new Ghost Mode that lets you stop sharing your location on Snap Maps for a set period of time up to 24 hours, or turn it off completely.

Update to the latest version of Snapchat and then you can start setting this up. You only need to change the setting once and then you will be able to share links right to Snapchat chat.

1. Open Safari.
2. Tap on the Share icon (Small box with an arrow pointing up).
3. Scroll all the way to the right and tap on More.
4. Scroll down and tap the toggle to turn Snapchat on.
5. Tap Done.

That’s all you need to do to set this up. Once it is turned on you will be able to use it in Safari as well as other apps that use the same share window. For example, you can use this in Reddit and other apps where you may want to share a link.

After you turn this feature on, you simply need to find a link you want to share and then you can send it to your Snapchat friends without copying, opening the app, going to chat, finding the person and pasting the link. Now it’s super-fast and really convenient.

1. Find a link to share.
2. Tap on the Share icon.
3. Tap on the Snapchat icon.
4. Choose who to send it to.
5. Add a message if you want to.
6. Hit Send.

That’s all you need to do. You can send this to multiple friends at once without making it a group message. You cannot share to a group chat from this menu at this time. This moves the Snapchat chat to the top of your chat screen.
