In some cars, the driver can configure everything from the harshness of the suspension to the response of the throttle. They can fine tune everything. In other cars, there is little to no choice. The drive chooses between a comfort and a couple of sporty modes, and that’s it.
Aston Martin, intelligently, gives you choice without giving you too much choice. There are three driving modes for the suspension and three driving modes for the rest of the car. GT mode is appropriately-named because it’s the comfortable setting you’d use while grand touring. The suspension is soft and plush and the steering is responsive but not jittery. The exhaust sounds good but it’s not the loudest it gets and the gear shifts are silky smooth. In Sport mode, everything is tightened up. In Sport+, the highest setting, everything is set up for back road blasting or even laps of the local track.
What we like about the setup is that you can have Sport+ for the drivetrain, including throttle response, steering, gearshifts, traction control and sound, but still have the GT suspension setting because the road might be bumpy. A button on the left side of the steering wheel controls the suspension, while a button on the right controls the rest.
