Uber & Lyft - Make Money Driving People
You can also use money making apps like Uber and Lyft to make money driving people around. You'll need a car and you need to register and be accepted to make this work. Some areas will see higher competition and others may not be open yet.
With Lyft you can make up to $35 an hour driving your car. You can earn tips that you keep and you can use Prime Time pricing to make more than you normally would while driving.
Uber says the average earnings per hour are $19.04. You need to be 21 or older, own a 2001 or newer car (2006 or newer in some cities) and you must pass a background check.
Lyft provides additional no cost driver insurance and so does Uber. With both you need valid car insurance as well.
While they take a bigger commitment Uber and Lyft can help you earn money. Matt Neff, Host Of The Entreneato Podcast, uses it to earn extra money each month. Neff tells Gotta Be Mobile, “I started driving for Uber and Lyft 3 weeks ago from a recommendation from a friend. Sign up for both companies took 20 minutes tops and both apps are super easy to use.
In my first two weeks of working for the companies I cleared over $650 before expenses. I absolutely love driving for both Uber and Lyft! I get to meet interesting people, engage in great conversation and learn more about my city all while averaging between $18-$22 an hour!”
Download the Uber Driver app or the Lyft Driver app to get started.
