Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass

Activision announced that they will not offer a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Pass, but instead will focus on free maps and cross play support.

We finally know how they will handle in-app purchases to some degree. There is a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass system that will allow you to complete missions and level up to unlock new in-game content. This is in place of loot boxes.

You can also earn Call of Duty Points while you level up and unlock weapon skins and cosmetic variants.

There will be free Battle Pass and paid Battle Pass levels. Right now we don’t know all the details, and it will not launch with the game, but we do have a better idea of what is coming. Here’s more on the Battle Pass.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Cross-Play

This is the first year for Call of Duty Cross play and this is how it will work. First off, you will need an Activision ID or Call of Duty account to link up with friends on a different console.

When you are playing against other users, the matchmaking is input based. That means if you are using a Mouse and Keyboard on the console, you play against other users with mouse and keyboard on console and PC. If you play with a controller, you’ll match up with other users who are also using a controller.

This means no inherent edge from the type of controller you use, and it could limit how you squad up.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Systems

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare release is coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PS4. This includes all models of these consoles, though you can expect better graphics on the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and on higher-end gaming PCs.

There is cross-play support that will allow gamers to play across all three systems. The PC version is only available on Blizzard Battle.net, so you won’t find it on Steam.

There is no support for the Nintendo Switch, and you shouldn’t expect to see it added later on down the line.
