Published

on

The Call of Duty: WWII DLC expands on the original game to deliver new maps, more Zombies experiences and extend the life of the game. This is what we know about the Call of Duty: WWII DLC release dates, contents and other important details that include Call of Duty: WWII Supply drops.

With The Resistance DLC and The War Machine DLC out on PS4, Xbox One and PC, we know a lot about the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass and you can play Call of Duty: WWII DLC 3 United Front on PS4 on June 26th.

If you’re not thrilled with the Call of Duty: WWII DLC, here’s what we know about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 if you are skipping the DLC.

This is what you need to know about the Call of Duty: WWII DLC and the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass that allows you to get the best deal if you plan to play all the DLC.

Call of Duty: WWII DLC Release Dates

When to expect Call of Duty: WWII DLC release dates.

When to expect Call of Duty: WWII DLC release dates.

We know many of the Call of Duty: WWII DLC release dates. All of these will arrive in 2018, and two of them are already out. Here are the confirmed, and expected dates.

  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 1 – January 30th on PS4
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 1 – March 1st on Xbox One & PC
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 2 – April 10th on PS4
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 2 – May 10th on Xbox One & PC
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 3 – June 26th on PS4
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 3 – August on Xbox One and PC
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 4 – September on PS4
  • Call of Duty: WWII DLC 4 – October on Xbox One and PC

Not all of these dates are confirmed yet, they line up with what we’ve seen on the last several Call of Duty games and there is a very good chance that this will line up yet again. At the most, expect a fluctuation of a week or two that pushes some of the releases into a later month.

Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass

What you get with the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass.

What you get with the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass.

The Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass is an all access pass to the Call of Duty: WWII DLC. Instead of buying each pass independently, you can subscribe to all of them.

This is on sale at $49.99 and it is bundled in with some of the Call of Duty: WWII editions that you can buy. This is a discount on buying all the DLC packs alone, which will save you $10.

One downside is that you are locked into all the DLC, instead of deciding whether to buy the new DLC map pack and Zombies experience when new DLC comes out.

The Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass also includes the Carentan bonus map available on the Call of Duty: WWII release date. You need to buy the Season Pass to get this.

Call of Duty: WWII DLC Early Access

If you play on the PS4, you get to play Call of Duty: WWII DLC first. This is thanks to a partnership with Sony which started with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and continues through Call of Duty: WWII. There is a 30 day early play period on the PS4.

Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass Price

While many things change, the Call of Duty: WWII DLC price does not. We already know that the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass is $49.99, and that signals that the price of the DLC as a standalone will be the same.

Expect to pay $14.99 for each standalone DLC pack and don’t expect any deals outside of the Season Pass or special editions. We saw a deal for the Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass on Xbox early in the spring, but it’s not available anymore.

While there aren’t great DLC deals, you can save with the best Call of Duty: WWII deals.

Call of Duty: WWII DLC Content

There is a slight change to the Call of Duty: WWII content. Instead of four new maps and one new zombies mode, you get three new maps, one new war mode and one new Zombies mode. There are four Call of Duty: WWII DLCs planned. Typically the Zombies episodes will stay together along a similar story or cast, but there is a lot of room for creativity.

Expect new maps and some remakes in the Call of Duty: WWII DLC.

Expect new maps and some remakes in the Call of Duty: WWII DLC.

The last two games came with four new maps in each pack, but only three brand new maps and one remake. This carries through for the first DLC pack, but shifts for the second and third map packs.

New War Missions

One of the brand new Call of Duty: WWII modes is War, and it’s shaping up to be a fan favorite. The game launches with a selection of War missions you can play in the online multiplayer, and there are now two new Call of Duty: WWII War Missions, with two more coming later this year.

Activision confirms that in addition to new maps and new zombies, you will see new War Missions with each of the DLC that arrive throughout 2018. Expect to see four new War modes by the end of the Season Pass.

Call of Duty: WWII Zombies

We know that there is a massive upgrade to Call of Duty: WWII Zombies for the main release where you will play as part of the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives section hunting for stolen art. The zombies story focuses around real events, that are embellished for the story.

We expect to see four more episodes that will hopefully continue on this track with each of the DLC release dates through 2018.

Call of Duty: WWII DLC Criticism

With the lower number of maps shipping with Call of Duty: WWII, and only three new maps in each of the DLC packs, fans are not thrilled. Above is one of responses to the news that you will only get three new multiplayer maps with each of the DLC. That means you’ll only get 12 new Call of Duty: WWII maps over the course of the year and one of those in each pack being a remake of a popular style.

Call of Duty: WWII Supply Drops

We also know that there are Call of Duty: WWII Supply Drops that will add DLC weapons, but they will only be cosmetic, at least at this point. Michael Condrey of Sledgehammer Games says, “Yes. All weapon variants and gear variants in Call of Duty: WWII supply drops are cosmetic only, so there are no stat-based variants in play. We’re also offering players Collections and Collection Bounties, giving a direct path for our community to earn items through all modes of MP and Headquarters play.”

All cosmetic items are themed for the WWII era, so no moving futuristic camos. You will see Sweetheart grips, which will put pictures in the pistol grips. This is a real thing that happened in WWII with plexiglass grips and photos of loved ones. You will be able to open loot in front in front of other players in the Headquarters, which will increase your social score. If you open something amazing while people are watching, they will also get a prize.

Call of Duty: WWII Season Pass: 4 Reasons to Buy & 2 to Wait

Buy if Call of Duty: WWII is Still Your Go to Game

Is Call of Duty: WWII your game? If you are sticking with Call of Duty while half the population jumps to Fortnite Battle Royale and PUBG, this is a good investment.

This is still the go to boots on the ground version of Call of Duty, and even with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on the way it makes sense to buy the Season Pass if you will play Call of Duty: WWII for most of 2018 and into 2019.

If you think you will buy all of the maps because you loved the first 8 months of Call of Duty: WWII or because you like the direction the game is going with each update, you should buy the Season Pass.

For gamers who are planning to play Call of Duty: WWII for a year, it doesn't make sense to wait and buy the DLC separately or even to skip one or two of them since that will limit the matchmaking as you get split into a smaller and smaller pool.

You save $10 over buying the DLC individually, you get a bonus and you may still need to wait a long time for a deal.
