The hit mobile game Clash of Clans is over five years old, and it’s still going strong. In May, the developers introduced some of the biggest changes ever, the new Builders Base. And while that was the last big update to the game, we’re expecting even more in 2018. With that in mind, here’s what might be coming and we want from the next few Clash of Clans updates in 2018.
The developers at Supercell constantly listen to player feedback and make improvements to the game. We’ll see some of that in the December update, and hopefully even more next year.
Now that players have two villages, more clan war options, and special events, there’s a lot going on. However, that also means there is plenty of room for exciting new changes, game modes, and additional features. We know Town Hall 12 is coming eventually, but here are a few other things we want too.
What’s next for Clash of Clans? Town Hall 12 of course, along with Builder Hall 8 and a few other things. For those keeping track, Town Hall 11 arrived in December of 2015, so it’s two years old. It’s also the end-game in Clash, at least for now.
We have no concrete evidence that Town Hall 12 is coming soon, and it was already ruled out for the December update. However, that doesn’t mean it’s not coming in early 2018. In fact, after nearly two years of nothing significant, the beginning of the year is potentially the perfect time for it to come out.
That said, the main village is only one aspect of the game. The Builder Base is growing in popularity, and Supercell could take a bunch of different directions for the future. Blend both villages into one, let players use both for Clan Wars, or just keep each one separate and continue to improve them.
New troops and balance changes can only take things so far when the game is over five years old. We need some drastic new changes. Excitement is starting to fade, and prices for upgrades continue to rise to the point that they’re out of reach for many. As a max Town Hall 11, I only play to finish my three daily Builder Base attacks. It’s an exciting addition, but I’m not sure it was enough.
In closing, here are some potential new features or changes we want or expect to see in 2018. These are changes based on what the community wants, what I want as a Town Hall 11, and a few general changes we’d love to see. Whether they’re to Builders Base or both villages.
