Clash of Clans August 2017 Update: 5 Things to Know

Surprise Anniversary Events

Throughout the month of August, the Clash of Clans developers will likely add more surprises and changes inside the game. Game update files show we could see the Wizard, Giant, and Witch working on upgrades along with the Barbarian. Basically doing the hard work while the Builders are missing. 

The Battle Ram event ended and was replaced by the Giant event. Where Giants will come out from the rubble when a builder hut is destroyed during attacks. These Giants distract the enemy and help defend your village. 

Then, similar to the Christmas events in the past there will be a birthday present box for the Clash-iversary. Likely within the next week or so. This present or box has a bomb made by Wizards and explodes when troops go near it. This could be called Boom in a Box or the Birthday Boom. 

And finally, Shrink traps. Similar to the spring traps in the game witches made a new Shrink Trap that will suck incoming troops down to a smaller size making them easier to destroy and defend. These might be fake, but we're seeing it from a few different sources. Just know that a bunch of special events are coming as we await the Builders return.
