The hit mobile game Clash of Clans is six years old and it’s still going strong. Now that the Builders Base is a year old and Town Hall 12 just arrived, what’s next? The June Clash of Clans update was the biggest one in two years, but we’re expecting a lot more in 2018. With that in mind here’s what might be coming and what we want to see next.
Now that players have two villages, Clan Games, better Clan Wars, and special events, a lot is going on inside our villages. However, that also means there is plenty of room for exciting new changes, game modes, and additional features. We know an “end-game strategy” is coming eventually, but here are a few other things we want too. This is a Clash of Clans 2018 update roadmap and wishlist.
What’s next for Clash of Clans? New Siege Machines, Builder Hall 9, the Goblin map, and maybe a fourth Hero. For those keeping track, Town Hall 11 arrived in December 2015, and the Town Hall 12 release on June 11th, 2018 was nearly three years later.
We knew that Town Hall 12 was on the way, and even talk at the Clash of Clans forum suggested it was coming this summer. In fact, the last major update was around a year ago, in May, the Builder Base. So, this huge Town Hall 12 update is right on time. Don’t think the fun stops here though because it doesn’t. A big Reddit AMA from a Supercell employee earlier this year shared tons of exciting information. That’s a great place for any fan to start, or check out our slideshow below.
That said, the main village is only one aspect of the game. The Builder Base is starting to mature, and Supercell could take a bunch of different directions for the future. Blend both villages into one, let players use both for Clan Wars, or just keep each one separate and continue to improve them.
The Town Hall 12 update was a huge step in the right direction. Simple because new troops and balance changes can only take things so far when we’ve played for 5-6 years. Siege Machines and the Electro Dragon will completely change how we attack, putting excitement back into the game. Supercell also made a lot of changes to lower prices, increase rewards, and help players continue to complete tasks and upgrades. Is this update enough to get you excited about Clash of Clans again? If not, maybe our suggestions below will.
Here are some potential new features or changes we want (or expect) from Clash of Clans in 2018. These are changes based on what the community wants, what I want as a Town Hall 11, and a few general changes everyone can appreciate. Whether they’re to Builders Base or both villages.
