MacBook Air Retina
Rumors of a smaller MacBook Air Retina are over a year old, but it looks like 2015 is the year where we may finally see a 12-inch MacBook Air Retina release.
Release Confidence: 75%
Release Timing: 1st Half of 2015
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes we could see a MacBook Air Retina release before the end of March. In the same note he claimed the Apple Watch release would arrive before March 31st, so we could see a small deviation from this. If Apple holds an event for the Apple Watch they may also announce a new MacBook Air Retina and start selling it as soon as the event closes.
The MacBook Air Retina could use a new higher-resolution display in a smaller 12-inch size. Combined with smaller bezels and a new design the overall size may be closer to the 11-inch MacBook Air. This is something that the Dell XPS 13 pulls off well.
We could see a new design with a thinner frame, a new touch pad, redesigned keyboard and a single USB Type C connector that connects peripherals and replaces MagSafe for charging.
Check out how the MacBook Air Retina could compare to the MacBook Air in stores today.
