Fallout 1.4 Update + Automatron Problems

Fallout 1.4 Update + Automatron Problems

The Fallout 4 1.4 update fixes a number of issues with the game but those using it have already run into some lingering issues and a collection of new problems.

Bethesda's Fallout 4 forums are starting to fill up with complaints about the latest patch. PC users are complaining about a variety of issues including problems with sound, problems with settlements, lag, random crashes, and more

As for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the 1.4 patch, users are seeing an assortment of problems including lag, crashes, sound issues, enemies that don't die, enemies and Dogmeat falling into the ground, and a whole lot more

I've also experienced some early problems with the 1.4 update including frame rate issues, clipping, and problems with sound on Xbox. You can read my impressions here.

It's also worth mentioning that I haven't seen any noticeable differences between 1.4 without Automatron and 1.4 with Automatron. Automatron owners are reporting all sorts of problems with the DLC but I haven't noticed anything major. Yet.

If you haven't installed 1.4 or Automatron yet, it would be wise to take a look at our list of fixes for common Fallout 4 problems. That way, if you do run into something, you'll have a working fix or two on hand.

And if you have installed the 1.4 patch and/or Automatron and you're seeing something, you might find the fix you're looking for there.

Bethesda's 1.5 update will fix some of these 1.4/Automatron problems. In the meantime, remember to report bugs as you see them. That way, you'll help Bethesda improve its next Fallout 4 patch for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
