Galaxy Note 10 vs Note 9: Display & Size

Perhaps the single most important part of your decision will come down to the size of the screen on the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Note 10, and the Galaxy Note 10 Pro. Yes, there's a Pro model.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a traditional 6.4-inch Quad-HD screen that looks great. It's a very familiar size they've used for several years now.

With the Galaxy Note 10, things are changing. Not only because of the in-display fingerprint scanner and the hole-punch cutout for the front camera, but in terms of the overall size. Here are the hard numbers.

  • Galaxy Note 9 screen: 6.4-inches
  • Galaxy Note 10 screen: 6.3-inches (yet way smaller than the Note 9 physically)
  • Galaxy Note 10+ screen: 6.8-inches

Basically, the main Galaxy Note 9 competitor will be the new Galaxy Note 10+, the flagship high-end model. You'll get a bigger screen, smaller bezels, and there's a cutout inside the screen that houses the front camera. You're getting a bigger screen and more features all in a device nearly the same size as last years Note. Mainly because the bezels are smaller. They managed to fit a bigger screen in an even smaller space.

Some people love it, some hate it, and some don't mind the small interruption in the screen. You'll have to decide which size works for you and if you can deal with the hole for the front camera.

Or, get the smaller 6.3-inch Galaxy Note 10 which is actually a lot smaller physically than the Note 9, even if the screen is nearly the same size. Keep in mind that the Note 10 (6.3-inch) only has a 1080p display, while all other models and the Note 9 have Quad-HD screens.
