Galaxy Note 10 vs Note 9: Camera(s)

Here's another area that's getting an interesting change. The Galaxy Note 9 had two powerful cameras on the back, but the Galaxy Note 10+ has four. Yes, 4.

The smaller Note 10 will have a powerful triple camera setup similar to the Galaxy S10 from earlier in 2019, Samsung's biggest and best got a new Quad-camera lineup with some neat new features.

  • Galaxy Note 10 will have 5 cameras: Quad rear cameras with the main 12 Megapixel f/1.5 through f/2.4 variable aperture camera, a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto zoom lens, 16MP super-wide angle camera, and a ToF "DepthVision" sensor. Will feature dual optical image stabilization, 960 FPS slo-mo, 4K, etc. Then, a 10MP f/1.9 front-facing camera with 4K, portrait mode, face unlock & more. Centered, cut out of the screen.
  • You get the same camera setup on the smaller Galaxy Note 10, but with only three rear cameras, not four

The Galaxy Note 9 still has a capable 12 and 16MP camera setup, with Samsung's popular variable aperture main sensor, then a secondary camera for different features and perspectives.

We weren't expecting groundbreaking new camera technology from Samsung until 2020 with the S11. That said, the new DepthVision sensor on the Note 10 could prove successful. The camera looks like it can do some pretty neat things during photos and video. And no, the Note 10 doesn't have a triple variable aperture like early rumors suggested.
