Improvements to Samsung Cloud & Samsung Pay

If you use Samsung Pay or Samsung Cloud, you should be excited about the Galaxy Note 8 Android Oreo upgrade.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update includes several improvements to Samsung's cloud solution. These changes include:

    • View and manage photos and notes stored only in Samsung Cloud.
    • Store any type of file in Samsung Cloud Drive.
    • Select specific items to delete or restore from backup data.
    • View the size of all your backups and see how many items they contain.

You'll also be able to add an icon to access your Cloud storage from your Galaxy Note 8's home screen.

The Galaxy S8's Android 8.0 Oreo update also includes small speed and security improvements for Samsung Pay and we expect the Galaxy Note 8 to benefit from those changes as well.

For more on these changes, take a look at our guide to the Galaxy S8 Oreo update.

After reading the article, I can’t see a single reason to update to Oreo. My phone works too good to screw it up over a bunch of cosmetics and gimmicks. I don’t think a typical Note 8 user cares what Emojis are included, or what colors you can make the screen. We buy Note phones because they have real functionality you cannot get with any other phone.
