Another area where Samsung has improved by leaps and bounds is the camera. They've always had some of the best cameras on the market, but that really started to show last year.
In 2016 (for the S7 and Note 7) Samsung ditched the 16 Megapixel camera and went down to a 12 DualPixel sensor. This uses 95% of the pixels to have a laser-fast autofocus, and it captures more light faster. Resulting in crisp and clear pictures in almost any situation. The sensor is bigger too, which improved low light photography. If you've enjoyed the camera on the Galaxy Note 5, you'll absolutely love the Galaxy Note 8 camera. It's better across the board, including a newer 8MP front camera for selfies. However, instead of just one 12 Dual Pixel camera on the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung added two. You have one fast f/1.7 aperture lens for primary photo-taking duties. Then, there's a second f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens with a 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. Then, it's the world's first dual camera phone where both cameras have optical image stabilization.
Basically, whether it's at night, a moving subject, or you zoom in on something far away most likely the photos will turn out great. If the camera is important to you, get the Galaxy Note 8. |
