Both the Galaxy Note 8 and the LG V30 should look very similar to phones you can already buy today. That's because they're both basically bigger versions of the Galaxy S8 and LG G6. However, LG's making the bezels even smaller for the V30, and you might want to wait and see it before you decide.
The Galaxy Note 8 screen looks amazing and has tiny bezels. You almost don't even see them with the curved edges. The back is also covered in glass to help with wireless charging. It features dual cameras on the back, and the fingerprint scanner is back there too. That's because Samsung ditched the front physical button and tried to put it inside the screen, but failed to get that technology working. As for the LG V30, it should basically be a bigger version of the LG G6 released earlier this year too. Just like the Note 8, it will have a premium metal and glass design, wireless charging, and a familiar setup on the back. That being dual cameras and a fingerprint scanner located under the camera array. For what it's worth, Samsung's scanner is next to the camera, not under it. Both phones use a USB Type-C port, have a microSD slot to expand storage, and the necessary 3.5mm headphone jack everyone still loves.
The only major difference will be each companies design aesthetics, and the Note 8 is fairly bigger. Not to mention will have a slot on the bottom to slide-out the S-Pen stylus. One big aspect of the LG V30 design is the battery is no longer removable. This was a necessary change to offer IP68 water-resistance. That could be a deal-breaker for some. In closing, we're hearing the V30 screen is curved too, similar to Samsung's recent devices. |

Everything we know so far??? Not a single mention of removable or non removable battery. You act like this want even a feature in the v20. If it’s not there, that is a big loss for consumers. They will have to buy another$1000 device when their battery doesn’t hold a full charge anymore.

No removable back = no sale will keep my v20. It works great and I don’t go swimming with it

It will come down to screen size, camera tricks… and price. Both screen size is sweet spot for me. I currently have LG G5 and still am crazy with its extreme wide angle feature! I like good zoom range but my very good pocket camera Lumix ZS70 has a 30X zoom range can take that job better. We’ll see…
