Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Release Date & Price

Galaxy Note 8 vs LG V30: Release Date & Price

In closing, let's talk about the other elephant in the room. The price of each phone, and when you can actually buy one.

Samsung's Note 8 is available now for pre-order with an official release date of September 15th. It costs around $930-$960 depending on the carrier. Samsung announced it on August 23rd in New York City.

LG is holding a similar press event on August 31st to announce the LG V30. The company confirmed the name and a few other recently, but that's all. Here's the problem, LG always takes far too long to release a phone after making an announcement. Usually well over a month, and sometimes two. We're expecting LG to fast-track the release to compete with Apple and Samsung, but the Note 8 will hit shelves first. By at least a week or three. We've heard September 23rd for the V30, but that's unconfirmed. Can you wait for LG's big new phone?

As for the price, $950 is expensive for the Note 8 but at least you can get one on a monthly payment plan.

LG phones always undercut the competition by a few hundred, but they aren't budget phones like Huawei or OnePlus. We believe the LG V30 should launch before the end of September for around $799. Either way, stay tuned for more details around the tail end of August.

Everything we know so far??? Not a single mention of removable or non removable battery. You act like this want even a feature in the v20. If it’s not there, that is a big loss for consumers. They will have to buy another$1000 device when their battery doesn’t hold a full charge anymore.

No removable back = no sale will keep my v20. It works great and I don’t go swimming with it

It will come down to screen size, camera tricks… and price. Both screen size is sweet spot for me. I currently have LG G5 and still am crazy with its extreme wide angle feature! I like good zoom range but my very good pocket camera Lumix ZS70 has a 30X zoom range can take that job better. We’ll see…
