Last but finally not least, is the release date and price. Two very important factors for anyone considering these phones.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 is available as we speak and arrived on September 15th. Google's Pixel 2 XL is available for pre-order now, with devices shipping around October 17th and later. So you still have a few weeks to wait. Now for the bad news, and that's the price. The Galaxy Note 8 costs $930-$960 depending on the carrier. It's one expensive smartphone. Yes, you can get it on a monthly payment plan, but still. That's a tough pill to swallow.
Google's Pixel 2 XL isn't cheap either, but it does cost less. Pricing comes in at $849 for the 64GB model of the Pixel 2 XL. Then, there's an option 128GB version for $949. That's double the storage of the Note 8 for the same price. However, the Note 8 has a microSD slot. Base pricing, the Pixel is cheaper. Keep in mind the Note 8 is available from all carriers, while the Pixel is only on Verizon Wireless. Both companies have unlocked models with support for most major carriers. These are hands-down two of the most exciting Android smartphones for the second half of 2017. Just know they'll both be great phones if you're willing to pay the price.
