Galaxy S10 vs LG G8: Camera(s)

Next, we'll want to discuss the cameras on these phones. Mainly because the Galaxy S10 has four cameras, yes four. While the LG G8 only has three main cameras.

Either way, you'll get great photos from both phones, but Samsung gives you more options. The Galaxy S10 is official, and finally copied LG's wide-angle camera, plus added a zoom lens on top of it for good measure. They copied and then one-upped LG.

Galaxy S10 Cameras

  • 12 Megapixel f/1.5-2.4 variable aperture camera with 960 FPS slow-mo, 4k, etc
  • 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto zoom lens
  • 16 MP super-wide angle camera
  • 10MP f/1.9 front-facing camera with 4K, portrait mode, face unlock & more.

The Galaxy S10 has very capable cameras. However, the LG G8 is no slouch either. In fact, the LG G7 and V40 flew under the radar as some of the best phones in 2018, and some of the absolute best phones for recording video.

LG G8 Cameras

  • 12-Megapixel f/1.5 main camera with OIS, Slo-mo, 4K and more
  • 16 MP f/1.9  Wide-angle lens
  • 8-Megapixel front selfie camera f/1.7 and ToF sensors

It's hard to say without trying each one, but just know that the cameras will be great on both, although Samsung will likely be slightly better. As a bonus, LG has no camera bump and the back is completely flat.

How much better, and good enough to warrant a huge price increase -- that's the question you'll have to ask yourself.
